Aging is a physiological process and can not be stopped or reversed but its effects can be allayed and mitigated. Skin rejuvenation is the term given to the procedures by which the skin ageing process lessens and, once more, brings back the youthfulness appearance to the skin.

  • What are the main causes of aging process?

There are intrinsic genetic tendencies such as metabolic and hormonal factors and extrinsic factors, for example, diet, stress but in reality we know little about aging which can be described as a process of deflation, very similar to the transition from grape to raisin.
What are the main factors contributing to aging?
Studies of similar twins (monozygotic twins) have shown that aging process is affected enormously by lifestyle and environmental factors  such as, emotional stress, sun exposure, smoking, drug and alcohol abuse.
  • What are the main available options for facial skin rejuvenation?

Microdermabrasion (dermabrasion) is one of the common methods of skin rejuvenation.  Microdermabrasion is  a mechanical skin exfoliation which resurfaces, refreshes and smoothes the skin. It is a non-surgical and painless procedure which is performed mainly on the face and neck, but can be carried out on the  chest, hands, arms and legs. At our cosmetic surgery clinic, Doctors Makeover, our trained and experienced therapist will be able to carry out microdermabrasion, non-invasive cosmetic treatment, according to your individual circumstances. We use the latest technology: BioSkin SonoLight, DeaLight, and laser for skin rejuvenation.
Chemical Peels are another skin resurfacing tool. Chemical Peels have been around for centuries and they have become refined and a scientifically based procedure. Chemical peels can be tailored from very light to very aggressive skin resurfacing treatment with results very similar to laser without prolonged recovery and serious side-effects. However, chemical peels like laser and microdermabrasion are technically sensitive procedures and the result is dependent on the skill of the doctor/therapist.
It is also important to note that depending on the age and specific cosmetic requirement a combination of non-surgical or surgical cosmetic treatments can be employed, for example, microdermabrasion or chemical peel, dermal Fillers, Botox and laser hair removal might need to be used to obtain the desired skin cosmetic rejuvenation results.
The third option of skin rejunvenation is laser technology, for example, fractional laser technology and CO2 laser are also being used for skin rejunvenation with success but recovery time is relatively long (about two weeks) and the laser also  needs to be repeated to obtain the desired effects.
  • What are the skin conditions which can be improved by microdermabrasion, Chemical peels and laser?

Microdermabrasion, Chemical peels and laser technologies can also be used for the non-surgical and minimally invasive cosmetic treatment of a variety of skin conditions which improve skin rejuvenation, such as:
    Fine lines and wrinkles
    Pigmentations
    Sun damaged skin
    Acne prone skin
